One of my favorite passages from the Book of Common Prayer comes during the Holy Eucharist: “It is right, and a good and joyful thing, always and everywhere to give thanks to you, Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth.”
That passage, to me, is a whole life philosophy. I figured out some time ago that the the purest form of worship is gratitude. The secret to happiness? Gratitude. The key to peace in any situation? Yep. Gratitude.
It truly is a good and joyful thing to give thanks to God always and everywhere. And God is always everywhere. We forget that sometimes in a world rife with distractions of one kind or another. We forget that all we have to do to see God is to seek him.
I don’t think I’m alone in the quest for peace, for a life that feels balanced, for a joyful existence. And so Always-Everywhere–this place where I’m so thrilled and honored that you have landed–is meant to be a little corner of the world where you can go to find comfort and inspiration. Balanced living means a lot of things to a lot of people. To me, it is about striking harmony between mind, body, and spirit. It’s about home and family. It’s about finding God in everything and everybody.
To that end, I practice yoga. I take long walks. I eat healthy food, keep my home space clean and organized, read books, write, connect with people, do meaningful work. I listen for God.
Always-Everywhere is meant to inspire you to find your own balance. To encourage you to connect to God and gratitude. To live this precious life in a state of mindfulness and peace.
May God bless you this day and always!
